SURFA is pleased to announce the 42nd Financial Forum which will be held on April 29 - 30, 2010, at the Georgetown University Conference Center in Washington, D.C.

As always, SURFA strives to offer a high quality conference at a reasonable cost.  The 42nd Forum will open by exploring the impact of current economic and capital market conditions on the utility industry. The Forum’s next panel will focus on the changing energy utility environment and how that environment interacts with the changing economic / capital market environment. The final panel of the first day will be devoted to a follow-up of the morning panels by representatives from Wall Street. Finally, the Forum will close with a two-part panel devoted to "cutting edge" cost of common equity models which are beginning to evolve in the academic arena, focusing on the theoretical underpinnings of the models, followed by a hands-on application of the models.

The Forum will help attorneys, the staffs of utility companies, regulatory commissions and consumer advocate agencies as well as individual practitioners gain a better understanding of cost of capital issues in the regulated utility industry in today’s turbulent economic environment.

I look forward to seeing you and your colleagues in April in Georgetown.
